Certification (2)
No, Sterile Processing University does not offer certification. Any user that successfully completes one of our online educational courses will earn a certificate in education.

No, we don’t offer desk copies of our publications at this time.
Educational Course Info (12)
No, our educational courses are not accredited, because we aren’t a school or university. We operate as a small business.
No, we don’t require that our study books be purchased when enrolling in our educational courses. We have taken our textbooks: The Basics of Sterile Processing and Basics of Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing and broken them down into modules. This means; the information from The Basics of Sterile Processing Textbook is what the person will see in the modules for the Technician and Ambulatory Surgery Technician Educational Courses and the information from The Basics of Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing Textbook is what the person will see in the modules for the GI Scope Educational Course.
If the user wishes to purchase the study books, then the person has this option.
No, we don’t offer job placement.
No, we don’t offer clinicals or externships. We suggest if the user is interested in gaining knowledge in the field, the person should reach out to facilities to volunteer in an SPD or GI/Endo facility.
We suggest that the user contacts a facility by where the person lives and volunteers in an SPD or GI/Endo facility. In some instances, facilities will accept this as hands-on experience.
We have many clients who enroll multiple users in our online courses. Please reach out to our friendly team member to discuss your needs. We will walk you through the steps to complete this request, as well as, a group discount.
Yes, our online educational courses are open to anyone, anywhere. The person will need an internet connection, electronic device to access our website and a credit/debit card to purchase the module(s).

Sterile Processing University is not a school or university. We only use the word ‘university’ in the name of our business. We are classified and registered as a small business company.
The modules are meant to be accessed and studied from the user’s dashboard. However, we understand that some of our clients’ have different learning styles. If you’d like the modules sent in a PDF format, please reach out to a friendly team member to arrange for this.
Absolutely! Anytime, a client has any technical questions related to the educational courses, we have SPD and GI/Endo experts available. Simply email us with the question(s) and one of our experts will respond within 48 hours (weekends and holidays excluded).
SPU doesn’t require clinical hours with our online educational courses. We offer the textbook basics for the SPD and GI/Endo professions. If a user needs 400 hours, then the person will need to research that with facilities by where they live.

Our online shop is set up for users who live in the domestic US. If you live abroad, we do ship our study books overseas. Please reach out to our friendly team members via email. Please include your name, the book(s) you’d like and the city and country for shipping. We will send a shipping quote for the books. If the quote is accepted, then we will provide steps on how to place the order with us.
All purchases made for SPU’s policy(ies), procedure(s) and/or form(s) are processed within 48 hours of submission. The document(s) are emailed under separate cover directly from SPU’s President.
If you don’t receive the document(s), please check your spam/junk folder, in case the message was routed there by accident.
Our processing time for online orders is four business days (excluding weekends or holidays).
If someone needs to place an order that’s time-sensitive, it MUST be received by 1:00PM, EST, in order to be processed the same day.
Please be sure to check the tracking details on your package shipment via the courier service selected. If the package was delivered, please check on a porch, back door or mailbox. If you live in a condo community, apartment complex, building, please check with the doorperson or a main office that may accept packages on behalf of residents.

We understand that ordering online may be uncomfortable for some users. Our friendly team can assist you by taking the order over the phone. Please reach out to us at +1.201.937.1343 Our business hours are 9:30AM to 5:30PM EST, Monday through Friday. Please note that, we can only take orders by phone that will be paid with a credit or debit card. We’re unable to take a business check by phone. We regret that we do not accept personal checks.
The user has 10 business days, from the date of purchase to return any publications. Publications must be returned in the same condition as sold; no marks, writing, dog ears, bent pages/edges. We suggest returning the book(s) to our office by a traceable means that requires a signature for delivery. All returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee and shipping is not refunded.
We require a signature on all online orders to ensure delivery to the user. If the user isn’t available at the time of delivery to sign for the package, the courier service should leave a notice on the door or mailbox. If the user signs the slip and puts it back on the door or mailbox, the courier will leave the package (in most cases).
If you leave directions with the courier to leave your package with a neighbor, please be sure to reach out to them for your package.
If the user does not want a signature option on an order, SPU will honor this request, however, we will assume no liability for any package that is not received. This includes any refunds on the order or shipping.
Payment Methods (2)
If you’re purchasing study books from our online shop, you will need a debit/credit card for the purchase.
If you’d like to pay with a facility or business check, this can be arranged. Please reach out to a friendly team member to request an estimate or invoice for the study materials, plus shipping costs. We can email the document to the designated contact so the invoice can be remitted to the facility’s Accounts Payable Department for payment.
Please note: We do not accept Purchase Orders for our study materials or online educational courses. If we receive a Purchase Order, we regret the order will not be fulfilled.
Our educational courses are offered and taken via our website interface. In order to purchase the educational course modules, the user will need a debit/credit card for the online purchase.
We also accept facility or business checks as payment for our educational courses. Please reach out to a friendly team member for more information on how to make this arrangement.

Returns (2)
No, SPU doesn’t provide prepaid return labels. If the user would like to return the study material, the person will need to send the items back to our office. We suggest sending the items with tracking and a signature, to ensure the package is received.

Speaking Engagements (1)
We work very very closely with our President. Although Mrs. Chobin is retired, she still maintains a very busy schedule. Please email our friendly team with the person’s contact information, details about the speaking engagement and anything else that should be shared and we will have Mrs. Chobin get in touch.
US Military/Veterans (1)
SPU strongly supports any active duty US military person or US veterans. We offer discounts to our military who are interested in enrolling in one of our educational courses. If the individual is interested in a group of military personnel enrolling in one of our educational courses, we will discount for a group as well. Please reach out to a friendly team member for details.
