The Sterile Processing Management education is intended for Sterile Processing Supervisors and Managers (new or experienced), Ambulatory Surgery Directors of Nursing, Infection Preventionists, Materials Managers and Peri-Operative Managers with responsibility for SPD. The course covers AAMI standards, Decontamination, Loaned Instruments, Compliance with Manufacturer’s Instructions for Use, Decontamination, High-Level Disinfection, Processing Flexible GI Scopes, Packaging Materials and Methods, Quality Surgical Instrument Processing, Sterilization (all available methods), Sterile Storage, Process Improvement for SPD, Productivity and Staffing in SPD, Training and Competencies for SPD personnel, Product Testing and SPD Policies and Procedures. Topics are reviewed and new topics added as deemed from input from attendees. All registrants are provided with detailed handout materials and reference forms for use in managing their departments.
